The first season of
NickCam aired on Nickelodeon from May 2 to July 4, 2008. The season introduces Nick
Cameron (Denzel Whitaker), his friends Rosanne Kenseth (Maunda Alexander), her
cousins Rhodey Wilde (Kwame Alexander) and Roman Harvick (Marlon Smith), Louise
Busch (Casey Scott), her sister Shirin (Jannae Scott) and Qristyl Logano
(Aldonesa Janglian).
Production
The series was created and executive produced by Jake Farrow and Dan Schneider who has created many other shows for the network. The show is
produced by Schneider's Bakery and Nickelodeon Productions. The series is
filmed at Nickelodeon On Sunset and KTLA Studios in Hollywood, California. The
theme song “Always” is written and peformed by the cast. All episodes from this
season were originally produced in the 14:9 format, then cropped to 4:3 for
broadcast and 16:9 for widescreen release. The season began production in June 2007.

Computer
expert Nick Cameron (Denzel Whitaker) and friends are forced by their parents
to sign up for a weekend job. They decide to join the new program at Mystic
Mountain. On their first day, Nick, Rosanne (Maunda Alexander), Roman (Marlon Smith) and Rhodey (Kwame Alexander)
meet their new friends at school Louise Busch (Casey Scott), her sister Shirin
(Jannae Scott) and Qristyl Logano (Aldonesa Janglian). After learning about a
web show called iCarly, the group decides to create their own and named it
“NickCam”.

Rhodey
is sick of being late to work while his cousin Roman is on time. Soon the two
compete to see who can arrive faster. Elsewhere, fearing that they may get
detention for lying, Nick and Shirin swear to always tell the truth. However,
it goes out of hand because they are too honest and alienate everyone else and
each other.

Rhodey
accidentally breaks Rosanne new phone playing at school. After the game, the
two and Nick are the only ones left at the bus stop while waiting for Nick’s
mom to pick them up. At first, they think that something is holding her back up.
They try to find ways to waste time and tolerate each other while they wait.
Nick’s mom Stella shows up and the tell the trio that it only was fifteen
minutes.

Louise does not
believe in superstitions and goes on to try to prove her hypothesis by doing all things superstitiously believed to bring bad luck, like walking under a ladder.
Counter to her hypothesis, a streak of bad luck strikes and Nick must help her stop it.

Nick
gets a girl down from a tree and his mother publishes a story on it. When
people start calling him a hero, he lets it go to his head and he starts acting
supercilious (i.e. cutting everyone in line for a new movie, and getting away
with it) and retells the story with exaggerated details. Rosanne, Louise and
Roman make a fool out of Nick to humble but he ends up saving the girls from a
speeding car. Elsewhere, the Busch are fighting and it’s up to Rhodey to solve
this by writing fake apology letters.

Nick
is presenting an award for basketball shooting, but Rosanne is upset when the
award goes to Rhodey. As this goes to her head, Rosanne rubs in the fact that
she thinks she should deserve it by giving her cousins attention they do not

he returns Rhodey and Roman are excited. However, Rosanne and the girls are
afraid that Nick has changed too much, so they read up on all the places Nick
has visited.

The gang resent the
large amount of homework they are assigned, especially because they want do a
special NickCam webcast. This
culminates in a large number of dares issued to skip work. However, the next
morning, Nick, Rosanne and Rhodey calls everyone and they all agree to call off
the plot because of guilt. Louise and her sister fail to receive the message
and carries on with the dare.

Louise and her sister
move in next to Rosanne, Rhodey and Roman after their old neighbor moves away.
The three get to know the sisters and discover how similar they are. After they
ruin Rhodey’s cake, Louise and Shirin both explain their sides of the story and
ultimately attempt to bake a cake to compensate for the one they ruined. With
their friends’ help, they succeed.

The gang is excited
that Nick’s mom is going to take them to Mystic Mountain’s Water Park Although
disappointed that they are brought to the beach, Nick’s mom tells them about
Ocean Cove and leaves them to find it. They have fun at the beach and realize
that the beach is Ocean Cove.

When Louise and Qristyl enter a talent show at Mystic Mountain
together, their friends try to tell them that they’re horrible when Louise
signs and Qristyl plays the guitar. After they hear a recording of
themselves, she realizes their friends
had been right, but at the talent show, the two surprises them with Qristyl
singing and Louise playing the guitar.

for pets and when Nick and the others find a snake in the park, they decide to

remember if it venomous or harmless.

his friends potentially are.

Green Room: The cast is nervous of being on TV and can’t decide
what kind show NickCam should. They all agree make it like All That and perform sketch comedy.
However, the first skit is plagued by a serious accident.
